IELTS Writing Task 2 Opinion (Agree or Disagree) Essays with Model Answers

Opinion essays ask to what extent you agree or disagree. Examiners look for a clear position stated in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay.

How to practise

Decide your position before you plan: fully agree, fully disagree or partly agree.
State that position in the introduction and repeat it in the conclusion.
Each body paragraph should support your position with a reason and an example.
If you partly agree, make clear exactly which part you agree with and why.
