The maps compare the roads and facilities that provided access to a city hospital in 2007 and in 2010.
Overall, the main road network around the hospital remained largely the same, but access was reorganised significantly. The most striking changes were the replacement of roadside bus stops with a bus station, the addition of two roundabouts and the separation of parking for staff and the public.
In 2007, the hospital was surrounded by the Ring Road, from which Hospital Road ran south to City Road. Six bus stops lined Hospital Road, three on each side. By 2010, all of these stops had been removed, and a bus station had been built to the west of Hospital Road. In addition, roundabouts were constructed at both ends of Hospital Road, where it meets the Ring Road and City Road, and the bus station was linked to each of them.
Parking also changed considerably. In 2007, there was a single car park for staff and visitors to the east of Hospital Road. Three years later, this area was set aside for staff only, while a new public car park was created to the east of the hospital, with its entrance on the Ring Road.
